Birding along the Los Angeles River. Will do monthly monitoring at Rio then move to other parks along LA River. Duration depends on temperature and bird activity. Meet 8:30 am at extreme SW corner of Rio State Park at S end of natural area parking. Entrance off San Fernando Rd near Frederick. Bring rain gear, binoculars, snack, guide books.

Site is stroller accesible and has a nice playstructure nearby. The hiking trail is flat, about 1 miles long, perfect for young explorers.
