Santa Clarita, 91321 Located in the City of Santa Clarita near the offramp of the 14 Freeway and San Fernando Road, the beautiful 442-acre Whitney Canyon Park in the Rim of the Valley Trail Corridor provides outstanding examples of coastal sage scrub, oak woodland, chaparral and riparian corridor vegetation, with year-round springs and at least ten sensitive species. Besides its importance for wildlife movement in a critical corridor between the Santa Susana Mountains and the San Gabriel Mountains, Whitney Canyon provides a regionally significant entrance into the Angeles National Forest. |

Beautiful oak trees, small water falls, and an oil seep spring. Great hike for beginners and little hikers. All minors need to be accompanied by a parent or legal guardian, or adult with written permission from parent. Meet at 8:30 at south end of Newhall Ave. Take I-5 N to 14 Fwy( Antelope Valley Fwy), exit Newhall Ave, R to carpool area. Bring water and snack. Leaders Sandra Cattell and Gaylon Rodin Hike is sponsored by the Sierra Club.
