O: Come join us for a 1.5 mi rt 300 ft gain hike along Eaton Canyon to the waterfall. Hike on trail in shaded canyon along the stream. Some stream crossings and boulder hopping, but not likely a problem given the drought. Fun for parents and kids. Meet 12 noon at the Pinecrest gate (exit 210 Fwy at Altadena Dr, N 2½ mi to Crescent Dr, R to Pinecrest). Since parking is in the neighborhood, please keep your voices down as we gather. Bring water, snacks, sturdy shoes, warm gear, and a smile. You may want to bring change of clothes/shoes for the kids, since they may get wet. Consider swim clothes for the pond at base of waterfall. Hike best for backpacked/ carried kids, or kids older than 4 year. All kids need to be accompanied by parent or legal guardian. Heavy rain/landslides cancel. Leaders Silvia Darie, Jeff Wilson. Hike is sponsored by the Crescenta Valley Group of the Sierra Club and Little Hikers. Sierra Club requires all participants sign a liability waiver.
