Crystal Cove State Park has 3.2 miles of beach and 2,400 acres of undeveloped woodland, which is popular for hiking and horseback riding. The offshore waters are designated as an underwater park. Crystal Cove is used by mountain bikers inland and scuba and skin divers underwater. The beach is popular with swimmers and surfers. Visitors can explore tidepools and sandy coves.

Crystal Cove State Park beach from Pelican Point to Reef Point; Enjoy late afternoon 7 mi, RT, 400'gain/loss hike. We will hike along the Pelican Point Bluffs then head down to Reef Point. On the way back we will stop in the Historic District to check out the planned completion of Phase II restoration work. Afterwards, enjoy sunset BBQ in picnic area of Lot 4-pre-arranged by contacting the leaders. This hike is suitable for families who can hike 7 miles. Minors must be accompanied by parent or legal guardian or with parental waiver. If you are bringing a child who is not your legal ward, please contact leader for waiver. We will ride share from Newport Center. Meet 2:30 pm at 151 Newport Center Drive; parking lot between Coco's and Macy's . Bring sturdy hiking shoes or boots, water.
