Other Info | The Crescenta Valley Sierra Club presents Joe and Priscilla Cruz's, "Plight of the Monarch," on Tuesday evening at 7:30pm on November 12, at the Los Angeles County Public Library, 2809 Foothill Blvd., La Crescenta, California. (Please enter on La Crescenta Avenue for the meeting place and parking.) Joe and Priscilla will focus their program on the rapid decline in numbers of the Monarch butterfly in California. The various points about this insect are the scientific mysteries, the migration of the Monarch as a prime pollinator; the image and superstition people attach to the Monarch; and the education and action needed to help save them. A video will be shown of the life cycle from egg to butterfly, and a video of the preserve in Mexico. Our program will follow news of Conservation and Outings. Refreshments will be served. This is a free program and everyone is invited. Please contact program chair, Wayne Fisher for further information, at 818 353-4181. |
